Organs for sale

I am astounded to read in today's Sunday Times that organs donated in Britain are being offered to foreign nationals who pay up to £75k to have the organ transplanted in an NHS hospital.

Consultants are pocketing a £20k fee for carrying out the operation.

I realise Brown has cocked up the country's finances but this is the last resort.

I carry a donor card but I expect any of my organs to be used to prolong the life of someone in this country and certainly not to be sold on to line the pockets of either the NHS or surgeons.

I rather think millions of donor card carriers have the same opinions.

It's simply outrageous and indefensible.
